Operation Encompass - Framingham Earl High School

Operation Encompass

Operation Encompass

Fram participates in a jointly run operation between Norfolk County Council and Norfolk Police; Operation Encompass. Encompass was set-up to help schools provide support to children who were present at incidents of domestic abuse and violence. We know that children can be significantly physically or emotionally harmed when they are involved in, or witness to, domestic violence.

The School will receive a confidential phone call from Norfolk Children’s Advice and Duty Service before 9 am, or as soon as possible thereafter, on the day after any domestic incident where Norfolk Police recorded a Fram student’s involvement in, presence at or witness to domestic violence.

On receipt of any information, the Designated Safeguarding Lead will decide on the appropriate support the student requires, this could be silent or overt. All information sharing and resulting actions will be undertaken in accordance with the ‘Norfolk Joint Agency Protocol for Domestic Abuse – Notifications to Schools’. We will record this information and store this information in accordance with the record-keeping procedures outlined in the schools safeguarding policy.
