Being Heard
As a core value of our school, we pride ourselves on listening to our young people. We have a range of different forums in school to capture student voice. Any student may be asked to meet visitors, discuss a curriculum, share views on potential new staff or give feedback to contractors such as Aspens. However, our two formal forums are SAFE and HTC.
SAFE: Student Ambassadors for Framingham Earl
Each tutor group in Year 7 to Year 9 have a form representative and a deputy.
Reps and deputies are voted in by members of the House tutor group.
These reps meet once a half term to discuss issues and put forward suggestions for whole school change. They are involved in organising charity days, promoting events in school and sharing ideas.
Meetings are with Mrs Arnold and are chaired by reps of HTC. Agendas are written by HTC and action points are shared in assemblies or tutor time.
Recently we have discussed uniform, catering, activities week, SEND, school buildings and careers.
Students are rewarded for engagement with a trip to the Royal Norfolk Show in the Summer term.
HTC: Headteacher’s Council
Each tutor group in Year 10 and Year 11 have HTC representatives. These students are nominated by staff and invited to apply for a position.
Year 10 students meet weekly in form time with Mrs Arnold.
These reps discuss issues and put forward suggestions for whole school change. They are involved in organising charity days, leading assemblies on SAFE feedback, chairing meetings, promoting events in school and sharing ideas.
Recently we have discussed school sustainability, developing House identity and creating opportunities with apprenticeship providers.
Students are rewarded for engagement with a trip to the Houses of Parliament in the Summer term.
